An innovative Asian style microbrewery, Tawandang is reminiscent of a large German beer hall with Thai-style entertainment and cuisine. Tawandang is a restaurant which served fusion of German and Thai food. Nice ambiance, friendly staff which are mostly Thais.
This was the first restaurant in Thailand to pair German beer with modern Thai cuisine. The deep fried pork knuckle with spicy sauce melts in your mouth. While the "three taste (sweet, sour and spicy) seabass" was a taste sensation. There are a few German inspired dishes too, like the mixed grilled sausages. Beer comes in a tower of one to two litres and can be placed at the end of your table.
This is an all singing, all dancing establishment, literally. There's a live Thai band performing most nights. The Suntec City restaurant is the newest locale in this chain, so as a consequence it's crammed with office workers during the week. Esplanade, Promenade and City Hall MRT stations are close by.
