Boomarang Bistro is one of the few Australian restaurants in Singapore - it was set up by a true Aussie owner and his chef with the aim of introducing their interpretation of authentic Australian cuisine to Singapore. The name 'Boomarang' was adapted to reflect an exuberant identity and the pride of true Australian heritage. A well-known Australian Aboriginal hunting device, the boomerang, when thrown correctly, travels in a curved path and returns to its point of origin. Likewise, the team at Boomarang ensures that diners have a memorable dining experience and always come back for more.
A laid-back semi open-air bar and bistro, Boomarang is a popular hangout for local expats. Boomarang serves up hearty breakfasts, tasty lunches and healthy-portioned dinners, but when the bar is at its most popular is during the many sporting events it broadcasts live on its several television screens.
Reflecting the chilled-out charm of its riverside location, Boomarang is dining in casual Aussie style. Done up in a chic, modern design with hints of Down Under. The tables are custom made from raw recycled wood from Australian trees. You can lounge either indoors or on one of the alfresco daybeds while digging into some of the best tucker. The menu reads like an outback safari checklist, but this is no gimmick. Chef Aaron Keaney takes his bush tucker very seriously?sourcing fresh and fine native produce directly from Aussie farms to create a sensational fusion of native and international flavors.
The local Antipodean community arrive here in droves to cheer on their favourite rugby or Australian Rules football teams. The noise emanating from this hugely popular bar can be heard from afar, so get here early or be prepared to squash in amongst the crowds.
