Iloilo grand hotel, a standard class hotel that provides room accommodation, function room use, food service, and other services is a business venture of four successful entrepreneurs, having their own specific field of interest.
Alfonso Tan, Marcelino Florete Jr., Romeo Go, and Rudy Tiu are four established names in business industry not only in Iloilo but in other places outside of the province, each having his own business that provide products and services to the community.
The first business venture of these four business tycoons was a restaurant which was located at amigo terrace hotel, Lee Garden. It was a restaurant that provided clients with a bountiful cuisine at affordable prices. It did not take long for the restaurant to have its own circle of patrons and loyal costumers. With its friendly and unique service, Lee Garden became the talk of the town.
However, long years of great food and wonderful service do not guarantee a lifelong business. The closure of Lee Garden could be attributed to a lot of factors, change in people?s preferences, economic problems, and new competition in the food industry. The closing of their previous business venture paved the way for a shift in the interest of partners.
The shift was initiated by the acquisition of the land by Mr. Florete; the site where Iloilo grand hotel stands today was once a condemned building and idle land. The reason for the acquisition of the land was to put up a real estate business. By the late 1990?s there was an increase in the profitability of the real estate business. The partners seemed to welcome the idea of establishing their own real estate business.
However with the onset of the 21st century, the real estate business became shaky and its profitability became to a drop, owing to the fact that the market for real estate became too saturated because of the influx of the real estate businesses. With this new development, the partners decided to engage in the hotel industry business.
Each of the partners has a direct or indirect background in the hotel industry. Mr. florete contributed his skills and knowledge of running a hotel, since he is an experienced hotelier ? owner of cebu business hotel in cebu city, he basically knows the ins and outs of running a hotel. Thus with his contribution he became the major stockholder of the corporation. Mr. Tiu owner of Imperial Appliances provided the hotel, the latest state of the art facilities and equipment. Mr. Tan, a giant in the construction industry, was the primary mover in the planning and development as well as the construction of the hotel. And finally, Mr. Romeo Go, the man behind the famous Sam?s footwear contributed financially to the corporation.
The construction of the hotel began on 2001. by December 8, 2003, the hotel formally began its operations. Iloilo Grand Hotel is located at Iznart St., Iloilo.
The four partners now serve as the four stockholders of the corporation as well as the Board of Directors of the company. Mr. Rudy Tiu was elected by the board to become the chief Executive Officer/President of the hotel.
Iloilo Grand Hotel has a total of 107 rooms available to accommodate guests. The hotel also has 21 function rooms for banquets and special occasions. The hotel also has three restaurants which provide guests sumptuous and mouth-watering dishes. Among the other services provided by the hotel include, car rental services, safety deposit box, secured basement parking, massage service and spa and fitness center.
